The odds of death in a truck accident are high

When Alabama residents leave their homes, they recognize the possibility of being involved in a car crash. Some of these accidents may involve a large truck, during which they could be seriously injured or killed due to the sheer size and weight of tractor-trailers.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is currently investigating a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a Kenworth truck. The agency is still attempting to determine the factors involved in the crash, which happened on Alabama 26 at around 9:15 a.m. Sadly, the 82-year-old man driving the passenger vehicle suffered injuries too severe for survival.

More than likely, this man had a family who is now mourning him. The results of the official investigation could provide them with some answers to why their loved one was taken from them so violently and suddenly. Even so, knowing how and why he died will not bring him back.

The Alabama man’s surviving family members could exercise their right to file a wrongful death claim against the driver of the truck. In addition, they may also be able to include the driver’s employer as a defendant. If the evidence proves negligence or recklessness caused or contributed to his death, the family could receive an award of damages similar to those seen in other truck accident cases.
